Evolution.

Strange.......

I've never seen anyone actually return from the "dark side"!!! :D

Usually the progression is:

  • Build truck
  • Chop truck
  • Build truggy
  • Chop Truggy into Buggy
  • Part out and sell pieces
  • Disappear from CK5 never to be heard from again. :(

Almost every truggy transformation I've seen ends with the owner getting disgruntled over taking it "too far"...and losing the ability to drive it on the street (legally) or giving up basic comforts like heat, protection from the weather, etc.

I'll be interested to see your next interpretation of this vehicle. It is interesting how our idea of the "perfect 4x4" seems to change with time.

Dave, aka 2dogs, touched on this at lunch yesterday. Its seems that a few people are going from the beat trail rig to a driver again. Altho I dont think Joes would be too street legal.:D

I couldnt agree with you more. My old blazer just lost its axles to my new blazer because I want a Blazer that is still comfortable and streetable.

I didn't make it to the point of truggy but I had gone so far with my old blazer that it was worth just buying a new one that still had carpet and AC than trying to dump all the time/money into my old Blazer to get it "nice" again.

I'm doing this to gain the narrower body mostly. My truggy as it is now, is waaay to wide for what I want to do with it. There's no way the new rig will be a dd....ever. Or even street legal. My truck is a tool for me to have fun with....If my idea of whats fun evolves, then the tool must evolve too. I don't care how far I have to go, I don't really look at it as going somewhere, it's just shifting to something different. Not a step back or forward, just a step sideways. And don't worry about me dissapearing from CK5 or the sport of wheeling. I'm here to stay. Wheeling is in the blood...has been since I was a kid.:D
