i have a turbo 6.2, thats freshly rebuilt, i was wondering if any one knows if any one make an exaust brake for a turboed 6.2 or a turboed 6.5?

Don't think anyone ever bothered. They only just became available in the aftermarket for the Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax, etc in the last few years.

Could be wrong and some random company made them.

ok now has any one used it on here before? i have a custumer thats wanting this but on his pre computer 6.2 turbo, and it looks like this one is set up to work with a computer. any ideas?

I've not used it personally, but it is indeed set up to work with a '94+ ECM. I'm sure you could install some switches, hardwire it, and use just the hardware, but I'm not sure it would be a good idea.

You'd definitely want either a manual transmission or a hard TC lockup circuit wired. If you were freewheeling an auto TC you could cook your tranny fast with one of these. The 6.2/6.5L bottom end (crank and main webs) are also not known for their great strength, and this would add a set of harsh harmonics in addition to the regular diesel operation that could shorten the life of the engine.

You can already get good compression braking out of a stock 6.2/6.5 due to their very high compression ratio. All you really need is a good lockup with an auto or a manual trans...

trans is a sm465. the 6.2 we built and its got a gertal on the mains already so im not to werried plus its running 6.5 hummve pulleies whick r heavy as hell and most deafently decrease vibrasions. so i guess its really a toss up hum. deffently thinking hard about this for the company tow rig thoe.

I have 2 exhaust brakes I got sent from Australia by my Bro in Law, one works off vacuum and one is cable activated, both were on older commercial engines that used mechanical on demand exhaust brakes, I don't know if I would use them on a 6.2 though I never felt the need for that, but I will use one on my perkins cause it never gave me any engine breaking downhill.:dunno:
