so its time for a new exaust system on Ol' Ben. from the cat up its in perfect shape but the big ol muffler and left side exit exaust fell off on the way to the mine yesterday.

so i want duals with glass packs. but i have to keep the cat and the
2 into 1 into 2 set up. (Here in WV we have to have a modified sticker on all lifted trucks and they are pretty strict. seen alot of ol nice rides benched for stupid stuff like leaky ball joint seals etc.) if it came with a catalytic converter it has to have one on it.

ive heard that duals straight out the back will recirculate the fumes into the cab when the rear window is down or the top is off. i had a 78 bronco with side exit behind the rear tires and it didnt do this. but the guy i bought it from said he originally had rear exit and it fumed him out.

my cousin had side exit on his blazer and he didnt have a problem.

i really want rear exit but i dont want fumes.. any experience from anyone?

or glass pack suggestions.. for lots and lots of cackle

I run my 2.5" Duals out the side behind the rear tire with a slight angle i beleive and its way better than my friends with it just out the rear lol. I like mine

Side exit is the only way. exit out out the rear will suck exhaust into the cab if you have any leaks in the seals. Put the rear window down and you might as well take a bong hit off your exhaust pipe:D

I made the mistake of running them straight out the back. :doah:I can never put the window down now.

i was afraid of that. and i really wanted rear exit.

i had thought of running headers dual cats and short glasspacks and turning em out in front of the rear wheels. but thats a little loud for daily use. and i think you can only do that on 2 wheel drives here in WV.

i really havent seen any side exits that i liked. ive always seen em with like 4 inch chrome tips and crap like that. if i could get em straight out the back out to the side then a little angle it might look alright.

Even out the sides, at times you will still notice the fumes with the rear window down, and side exit. Apparently much less than straight out the back, and it makes sense why.
