Just putting this out there since when I get my wheels in and mounted I'll then begin working out all the bugs in my truck. Of course I'm going to have to get my exhuast re-ran to be able to put my front d-shaft in once it's made. So here's my question. I have a bone stock TBI 350. The only thing that I've done to it is oil changes and a K&N. Not that it matters I'm also about to install a dual battery setup and dual electric fans. My brother has 2 Magnaflow mufflers he had on his Mustang for a couple months and said I could have them. Would it hurt my motor, performance, mpg, or anything if I were to run true duals? I'll still have the stock manifolds on it. Or should I just go with one single inlet-dual outlet muffler?

OK, scrap what I said about the Magnaflows. I want to go Flowmasters. Bone stock TBI 350. What would be best for me since i have to reroute my exhuast for my drive shaft? True duals? H pipe? Single in, dual out? Also what size pipe? Thanks y'all! :D

Single in/single out would be my choice, and while probably overkill for bone stock TBI (stock throttle body, intake and heads probably won't flow enough to matter) 3" would certainly be enough.

If I was doing the exhaust, I'd go headers too, they won't hurt.

Single is just easier and cheaper to run, and less things to go wrong. The Y-pipe is probably a hassle, but that's what the factory ran, so not that bad, and you can probably buy a kit from summit or LMC that is setup like this.

I thought about some shorty headers. I really love the sound of duals but not if they would hurt my performance any.

IMO the best set up for TBI is 3" single all the way back.
But
In your case with the y pipe clearance issues. Unless you want to get a new Y pipe made, I think dual would be the best. Duals wont hurt performance. Just dont go real big with the pipe size. With a stock/mild TBI 350 2 1/4" would be best.

I cut the y-pipe, welded in an elbow that was longer than the section that I cut out and called it good. It gave me about 2" of clearance

OK, so let me ask this. No matter what route I go, where would the best exit for the exhuast to run? 90* behind the tire(s) like stock or what? I do know that with the K5's that if you run them straight out the back, the fumes will roll in when the back glass is down. I cut mine off just before it 90's behind the tire right at the hangar and it still rolls in through the window bad. It burns my eyes and I don't want my kids back there when it's doing that. Discuss. :D

I would suggest single in dual out. You can keep your pipe in front of the mufflers after you fix it for clearence. This might also help keep heat in your O2 sensor keep you from needing a heated sensor. By the way I saw your truck yesterday on bobby jones that thing is huge man very nice.

The only place I have ever had mine dumped & not came in the rear window is to 90 it out behind the rear tire.

My latest exhaust is a mandrel 4" & I dumped it in front of the rear axle w/ a turn down & it doesn't come in very bad.
