Took it to a shop today, found one that did it for free
Gave up on the tailpipe expander. Mapp gas alone isn't enough, just like a propane torch, not enough fire, heat a spot and it cools while you're heating another spot. It did get that one spot red though. If I had oxy/mapp or oxy/propane it'd of worked, and of course oxy/acetylene. I did some research, one day I'll invest into a portable oxy/propane kit with a cutting tip and rosebud tip, I rarely ever use it.
It WOULD have worked, had I oxy/acetylene with a rosebud to heat it all at the same time, evenly and to cherry red, AND had an impact. However doing it with a breaker bar, I had to insert the tool, tighten it, and heat it, and tighen it. The tool sucked out all the heat, so I figured it WOULD have worked had I been able to heat it all cherry red, quickly insert the tool and zip it with an impact, but that wasn't the case.
Unfortuantly the lady at the counter was the one who 'expanded' the pipe

Can't complain about free, but I don't think she knew how to use the hydraulic press they have at the shop, just kinda made it look like a bell, flared out. Never seen one, or used one, but I can imagine it has an outer die that only lets it expand so far, and to keep shape, and an inner die that does the expanding. There were scuff marks on the pipe, so I'm assuming she didn't lube the pipe or the equiptment.
Oh well, lesson learned, don't attempt this unless you have the forementioned items. OR, perhaps try the more heavy duty ones, but they're around $100 +/- ... and an impact.
