Hey all - Simply put, I know zero when it comes to exhaust headers.

I'd like to replace my crossover pipe and run true duals. Physically, this isnt a problem. Technically, on my end, I havent even been through class 101.

I was hoping that perhaps anyone with insight could share their knowledge in regards to brands to lean away from, maybe some factual info about what to look for of specs, or even personal experiences of what some of you may be running or have used in the past.

As it stands currently, they all blend together in my eye - But I'm far from even a novice - My egg hasnt even hatched yet. I'd like to go no higher than 200 for a pair, and Summit has many to fit such price. If justified, I could see that bar raising up to 500.

My 350 is still stock, and will remain as such until it croaks. It runs strong so this may be a few years down the road. Im still in the process of restoring and there's quite a bit left to handle.

Another question is the rest of the exhaust system. I've always know of the exsistance - But the pre-fabbed kits, all inclusive - Has anyone ever actually installed one ? As above, brands to lean away from, experiences, etc would be appreciated.

Id like to get this started inside the next two weeks. Theres no real hurry, but the honey-do list is starting to back log, with no intermission in sight.

So, here I am, popping a flare - Any helpful replies are appreciated and thanks in advance.

Go to shopheaders.com, Check out the differant mfg. input your info and see what suits you best. ( $$ over quality, or fit and function, are you planning on staying with a sbc or plan on a engine swap down the line?) A little research can go a long way. And you just might get a little edu. at the same time. Good luck

If its a stock motor I would personally stay away from headers and just do a free flowing exhaust. They can be a pain, leaks don't fit right etc. The more they cost the better they fit for the most part :D

Think of headers as if you have 8 people trying to get get out one door at the same time vs 8 people going out 8 doors, the eight doors is faster, which is the headers.
