So low budget to say the least, decided to weld it all so it can be removed as a module from the Y pipe and tail pipe. It'll be good enough till the motor is in, ram horns purchased and I'm ready to really do the exhaust. But that won't be till next year when I get back. Not bad for a $99 chicago electric mig, and no room to work. See my sweet work shop? Mostly full shed, think I have a 3'x4' of 'work' area. :haha: Just gotta take the Jimmy to the muffler shop to get a tailpipe bent and put on. Can't wait to hear what they'll have to say.

Less than $40 for all three of those from my buddy, I did want the louvers facing the incomming exhaust, but about 3/4 of the way through welding the first cherry bomb I realized I put it on backwards, but I'll think it'll be ok. My buddies 76 Jimmy has headers to an adapter and two 18" glass packs and nothing else, obnoxious as all hell but still drivable. So I think with the cat, two 8" glass packs and a tailpipe it won't be too bad.

EDIT: Oh ya and the whole thing weighs roughly the same as the stock catalytic converter did :waytogo:

lol just keeding

lol I saw that post the other day. My welding is way better than that, and no soup cans for me  The silver stripes was cause I had a can of high temp paint laying around, and was bored, plus everything being aluminized steel and the cherry bombs coated, that just left the welds. But for $40, I don't care what it looks like. Just needs to work for the next year.

well, if it holds up and doesn't make too much racket, good job. Made by yourself is always cool, unless it's that scarysteering website.
