Exhaust manifolds with or without heat risers

1972 K5 Blazer, stock rebuilt 350, automatic, 4x4, 600 cfm manual choke 4 Barrel carb. Need to replace the exhaust manifolds. Should I replace with or without the heat risers? I found a set of both. I am in Denver, Co. Thanks for the input.
 
Whats wrong with the manifolds, are they cracked?
Reason i ask is the stock ones really are better those years than others.

I always removed all the heat riser stuff and tuned the carb.
 
I actually only need one. One broke while removing it for the rebuild. Engine was bad. They are center straight down dump. I decided not to do the heat riser. Now just to find an OEM ram exhaust manifold center straight down dump. The ones I found earlier won't work. Found some on ebay. They look like they should work.
 
Good deal. I know there are a few places in Denver that will have them, saw a set in the LKQ yard in Aurora a few weeks back as well. Dorman makes new ones also.
 
Thanks for the info. I work near there. Are they already pulled or do I pull them? Will they pull if I ask? Never been there, but familiar with the place.
 
They were loose, and i dont think they will pull there. There are several yards in town that do. Typically the price is doubled, but you walk in and pay like you would an auto parts store. Sometimes it is just easier.
 
You can use 2.5" center dump manifolds from an early corvette. The flow a little better than stock and clear the same as stock manifolds. If you aren't going headers, they are a good choice and cheap. Local auto parts store carries them.
 
Those used to be hella expensive, what's the going rate these days?
 
Wow, i sit a few years out building stuff and everything is on the internet now.
