Anybody running a dual exhaust on a Blazer with the tailpipes dumping in front of the wheels? My tailpipe fell off on me last night and I am gonna get some new pipes and see what I can imagine haha. Just wondering how it would look on a Blazer

I have to do everything around here.......:D

Check your local emissions laws. Some states require you to pipe it to the rear axle centerline on a 1/2 ton truck.....

is that what is here? All I know is smog guys don't like lowered trucks with dumps. :D
I always thought the exit couldn't be under a passenger area, anything else was ok. Except exit height, cousin got a fix-it ticket for that, threw a turndown on the exit, was all good.

good question....

Really, i run full length exhaust on all my trucks, so i've never looked into the specifics. Wish i could be more help...just wanted to make sure you look into it before you do it.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I think that I would be fine as long as it doesn't dump under the gas tank or anything, I've seen a bunch of trucks around here where the tailpipes come out in front of the wheels. That doesn't mean it's legal though, thanks again :waytogo:

This is a really old photo back before I started my build, but the exhaust was run how you're talking:

I should (fingers crossed) be building my exhaust this weekend, and am going to do the same thing but mine will probably make a 90 right at the end of the headers behind the front spring mount then another 90 turned up some so it is outside of the frame rails next to the frame tucked in close to the body for the mufflers then just turn out in front of the rear tires. I like to keep the exhaust away from all of the stuff I seem to always have to work on.

Ever get any exhaust in the cab issues with that? I know you aren't supposed to run them straight out the back due to the rear window sucking the fumes in if open. Mine are the stock dual setup exiting to the sides behind the rear tires and I still occasionally smell exhaust.

I don't think anything but a 10 foot extension out behind the truck would solve the smell issue. Every blazer or bronco I know of has that issue.

Yeah. I just put dumps under both of my last two pickups. Worked great and solved a BUNCH of clearance/cost/installation issues. Can't do that with The Blazer.

Yes, My GF & I both got dizzy & I had to pull over once. I had The back window down & the front windows were cracked open a little bit. I made a nice vacuum.
When I got home I found out I was running really rich. The timing/ carb settings were off. After I tuned it up I never had the problem again.
