So I know a few of you guys don't like a loud poppy exhaust. But im nineteen and have my mufflers on a flange because I change it at least once a month. But lately I've been in to the off throttle "pop" I have dual super 40's at the moment and they sort of do it but with all the wisdom out there I was wondering if anyone knows what will get me more pop! Axle overs, more pipe after the mufflers? Dumps? Bigger/smaller diameter tubing?

No glasspacks. I don't want it sounding like a half assed camaro. And I loveeee your mufflers. But I just got these. So no muffler change. The fact that these pop tells me I can make them pop more. And whenbi say pop im talking about the gurgling, four stroke on a limited sound. That the only comparative sound I can think of. Only off throttle not wot

So my muffler sound is what your after kinda?? Or no...

What all does your exhaust do? Y pipe single out the back
or Duals?

Does it have a catylitic converter on it?

My system is headers with true duals out the back with the violators mounted just before the tailpipes in front of the axle. No catylitic converters.

Well sell those super 40's to someone and buy the Violators:thumb:

Or try gettin some tailpipes and dump them out the back. The amount of pipe prolly changes the sound too.

Not looking for loud and obnoxious. Not to mention the loads of torque you get with straight pipes.

IMO the only way to get what you want are different mufflers...:dunno:

Tips change the sound of the muffler slightly. The longer the tip the throatier it will sound IMO. It has more room to resonate i think. THat's what I've noticed in just messing around with my truck.

I've never tried running tips. I usually have my exhaust tucked away. I have some brand new 3.5x12" tips though. With a rolled edge.

Im thinking i'll do 3 inch axle overs and dump them with the tips.
I like how those look.

Nope,he could burn an exhaust valve ,then it'll POP really good, the leaky valve kets unburnt fuel ignite in the exhaust manifold and pipes!....he could also shut off the ignition and pump the gas pedal while coasting in gear (if its a manual trans) and turn the key back on and get a very loud POP--but it might blow the mufler apart or right off it!..

A friend had a 70's Nova with a 250 six in it--one day the air pump diverter valve decided to fail, and every time he let off the gas on the highway it popped like crazy!!...his muffler was blown apart by the time he got around to doing something about it..(after a cop cited him for defective equipment!)..
