I need to replace my cat. and muffler on my 90 sub. At this time I would only like to replace the muffler and not the cat. Can I just put on the new muffler and extra pipe and skip the cat. for now or will the computer know the difference? I just smoged the truck so I don't have to do that for a year and a half.

these trucks dont have post cat O2 sensors so the ecm will never know the difference...

Cats are cheap. Do it right and don't risk the ticket. Less emmision isn't a bad thing either.

WOW I guess you told me. I was just trying to go on one last trip to the beach before replacing everything. However the sub had other plans. My tranny and rear gears are making none pleasant noises. Looks like its time for a full overhaul.
