Is a single 3 inch exhaust to much for a stock 350? It's in an 84 Jimmy with 35's,4.10's and a 700r4.

Nope some say its better than 2.25 duals. I have single 3" on my 90 and love the way it sounds too. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

No its not too much.

I honestly believe you would be better served with cross-over duals, 2.25" but thats opinion. either way, the 3" single shouldnt be too much.

builds torque because it scavenges the exhaust fumes and creates a "low" pressure, almost vacuum like.

When the right side fires, it creates a low pressure vacuum in the left pipe, so when the left side fires it essentially sucks the fumes out of the chamber as well as the engine pushes them out. So you flow more/better and build better power. plus an equalizer pipe or a cross-over will smooth out idle and I personally think they sound much better than straight duals.

I'll 2nd that. My tow rig has a crossover and sounds great!

I didn't know that 3inch was stock, sorry.

Not on everything, just on certain models. My 1 ton 2wd had 3" into 2 1/4" dual tails. It has 2 1/4" crossover duals now. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
