no need dude, thats exactly what I needed. I think if I ran those I would have shackle-hanger / shackle clearance issues... and they would be way to low for my taste. I know they aren't the best for low end torque, but maybe I'll go with the Hedman Elite shorties instead... that way I can route things up nice and high like I want to. Alternatively, they make a bunch of headers for cars with 350s... wonder if one of them would work for me...

Damn! Is that how low most full length headers go? I sure as f*** wouldnt want to land all the vehicles weight on that! O_O

Looks like ill be sticking with the manifold or going shorty..

Tri y's don't hang that low, yet give near full length performance.....

or just get similar headers that were designed for a car. I assume that 350s mounted in chevy cars don't go down as far... because cars are lower and don't have room for their exhaust to hang down that far. this might be one of those cases where I just have to call the manufacturer and chat to make sure I get what I want.

It would be interesting to see how headers from a Camaro or Monte Carlo would fit. Both V8's, both have "frames", so other than the distance from engine to ground, I would think differences to be slight.

Those 3/4 length Chevelle headers tuck in like they were built for a truck, right up under the cab floor. Just make sure you've got good insulation, or you'll have hot feet while driving, lol

rig is a truggy.. the floor is where I decide its ok for it to go. right now there isn't one. I could build around almost any headers probably. If they ended just above the frame it would be ideal really, then I could bring them down as needed, but if not, just leav'em up high and safe.

If people that have headers laying around are willing to measure for you, perhaps you could at least get an idea of which to look at?

I've got a set of headers in my garage, they are Oldsmobile, but they are from a car, and since all the cars the vintage they are designed for were "universal" (pretty much every divisions engines would fit) the "height" might be useful. I'm willing if you think it will help.

Obviously the header itself won't, but getting various "heights" might prove or disprove the length theory.

I contacted hedman tech service, we'll see what they say and go from there. If I can't know, for sure, what is gonna fit, I'll just say "**** it" and get the shorties. That'd be the easiest way to do it and keep things up high.
