I have a fairly beefed up 400 flat tops, balanced, cam, aluminum intake and carb, I am taking my truck in for exhaust next week and I was originally gonna go with 2.5" duals with H pipe off of stock ramhorns and into 2-1/4 flowmasters.

I already have the flowmasters, But I put 2.5" duals into 3" flowmasters with an H pipe on my blazer. It sounds sweet, but i lost alot of bottom end on it, It is a 350 with and rv cam.

What are you guys running on your rigs? I will not do a single pipe I want the look of duals for sure

454 duals 2.5 pipe and flowmaster 40's i think runs good not to loud on the hwy but barks nice when romped on.
i would sugest the same set up 3 inch is in my book for big motors and wide open passes drag car.

definitely agree but if you wanna save money go with thrush welded mufflers 21 bucks a piece and sound great thats what i got

If you are going to spend good money on exhaust, spend good dollars on headers. No reason to strangle a motor that has performance potential with manifolds, unless you are stuck due to clearance issues.

Doesn't matter if they are ramshorns or not, the engine won't flow if it can't get exhaust out the ports.

agreed headers wise choice shorties work too but get name brand because header leaks as we all know make a million dollar ride sound like a 500 dollar jalopy

I run a single 3.5" straight pipe on my turbocharged 6.2L diesel. The exhaust velocities are so low coming out of the thing that I couldn't possibly imagine a larger pipe allowing the exhaust to flow any easier.

My last two 350s I ran 2" duals, lots of snap, lots of low end, fell flat on their face at 4500rpm

I think i would get magnaflows if i did it again may change them out in a year or so, Different sound had a lot of flowmasters and like the way the magnaflows sound and most are stainless so no rusting.
