sorryto hijack but is it necessary to run an H, or an X pipe. Are there any advantages with having a x or and h or straight duals

Its not necessary but a corssover before the mufflers increases torque.

Even though your truck is smog exempt, your tbi is programmed to have a cat on it. The added backpressure, though minimal, keeps it all operating like it was meant to. Remove it and you will run rich. Anyway, todays cats flow so well that there is really no good arguement for taking it off. That is unless you're looking for low et's on the drag strip, and I'm pretty sure you're not doing that with a tbi motor.
As for configuration past thatI'm a fan of the 3" single.

Well I tore my exhaust off right after the crossover. I proceded to weld a Cherry Bomb on there and a L shape of pipe. My exhaust comes out just behind driver side door. Believe it or not it isn't too loud. No cat. 350 huffing and the Cops dont bother me. But if I let the loud pedal have it it can get loud.

Thanks for the tip on computer program for TBI. I hope I have solved this problem by having my computer reprogramed by Speed Scene Wiring in San Antonio, Texas. They took all my specs to include tire size, no EGR, gear ratios, and no cat. They also provided a harness that hooked up perfectly. It does include the O2 sensor, and speedo sensor, so I must assume they have dealt with the Catalitic Convertor issue when programing the computer. It started right up and runs great, but I can't really tell till I get the exhaust set up and put it on the road.
