guys just got done with my heater core so now on to my exhaust. 1991 350 stock. iam getting a magnaflow highflow cat and flowmaster super 40 from performance curve but cant decide how big to go, keep it the same as stock 2 1/2 or just go from the y-pipe which is 3" all the way back. this is a dd so offroading is very limited. i talk to muffler shops around where i live and i get 10 different answers, so ccccan you please help me decide.

Go 3" all the way back. IMHO single 3" works best for TBI. Better performance and should even get a bit better gas milage.

I would go single 3" also. I put a new system on my 95 Burb, 350 and it has 2.25 head pipes that y into the convertor and then 3" all the way back. The system is a Dynomax system with muffler, and a Catco high flow cat. I didn't notice any difference from the stock system, but it sounds better.

will i have to change out my chip or anything else, this is why i need to ask here the local muffler shop guy said well your gonna want to change out your computer chip to make up for a bigger exhaust.

It will run just fine on the stock chip.
You really only need to get a new chip if you change heads, cam ect and have a major increase in air flow.
The stock chip will handle most bolt on mods like exhaust, intake manifold, and TBI mods.

thanks you guys for a quick responce. i will call up performance curve today and order up mu new exhaust:p: i hoe it will have that nice deep sound to it. i will post some pics up when its all done thanks again.
