This appears to be a problem... I have about 1/2" (at most) of clearance between the two. What do you guys recommend for a fix on this?

BTW: I will be getting a cat converter welded in next month at a local muffler shop. Would it be best to have a new elbow pipe welded in so it fits lower than where it is now? I just don't want the exhaust sitting too low and looking ugly from the side. There is no hard core 4 wheelin' in the future so ground clearance is not too much of an issue, just want it to look cosmetically nice.

Thanks,
Louie

mine goes over the top of the driveshaft, and crosses over in front of the trans pan. that way it is as high as possible.

heres mine, its just an old photo where you can kinda see it, if you need another i can get one tomorrow.

The easiest thing would be to raise the transfer case back up. Apart from that or lowering the suspension, you will have to re-route the exhaust. I would go further back at the same level or try to go a little further forward and above the drive-shaft. Or go headers + full dual to eliminate the crossover pipe FTW. :-)

Get an elbow from Autozone. Cut the pipe shorter than the elbow, weld in the elbow and you have 2" of clearance for $6.

I routed mine forwards then crossed in front of the oil pan then went back again. Kinda funky when doing oil changes but seems to work great. I had the problem of it hitting the ground the stock way when i had stock suspension.
