If its a square body truck, the Hedman Elite headers that are ceramic coated are a great fit on these trucks. I put a pair on mine and theres no interference with the shackles or anything. The only thing you might have to do is bend the dipstick tube a little bit.

As for mufflers, Flowmaster 40's or something like that. They're loud.

What I got is stock manifold and gutted cat and a flowmaster super ten and it's loud as helllll

I put pypes performance violators on mine and i must say they are real loud, but sound pretty good. My experiance with the flowmaster 40s is that you get that firecracker in a tin can sound at high rpms without a built motor. They sound real good in the truck, but when you hear it go by they always have that sound it seams. I have a video that you can hear mine pretty well. Cant put up with my phone though.

You want loud!! Get some ZOOMIES and point them up thru the hood, problem solved. :D

Otherwise just stick with heddman or any other brand name, the bigger the pipes the louder itll be and hopefully youve got the motor to back it up otherwise itll sound like crap. Glass packs with no cats and youll surely be annoying your neighbors in no time. To make the sound even better, have the tips dump directly under your truck, so the sound bounces around a bit from the pavement.

It's a k1500 with a 350 I'm prolly gonna do flowmaster 40's with dump offs right after the axle

That crackly crappy sound is mostly caused by not running an H-pipe.

I'm currently building 3" duals with Super 44's and Hedman elites. Stock TBI 350 for now. It will have the H pipe. It may or may not have cats.

Ow do yall pass inspection without cats? Round here we have to gut them an put the shell back on to pass inspections. But I had a stock manifold with 3" pipes with no cat and a glass pack and my pipes broke off right past my glass pack and it is the loudest truck in the parkin lot haha :D:D

What are these inspections you speak of :D

Currently mine has flowtech headers with cherry bomb glass packs with an h pipe, no cats since I bought itand once was straight piped. No inspections here in Iowa

I did 2.5" with an H pipe and flowmaster Delta truck and suv mufflers. Quiet at idle not to loud cruising and a good throaty sound when you put your foot in it. If I had of kept the sbcin it I would have done the Headman headers.
Here is a pic of how it turned out.

dueling that sounds good and looks fun.i miss the sand.but i got rocks here so its a trade off.lol.i have flowtech headers and duel flowmaster 40s on my blazer.they are plenty loud and sound pretty good as well.

Yah im just not one to go with the crowd. Seems all my friends and the majority of people on here that want a louder muffler go with the 40s. I just wanted something different that not everybody had as the standard. Only other person i know running them is chevy305. If you hear them on his built 355 its a night and day difference in tone compared to mine. Just plain ole sexy!:thumb:

These are a candidate for the Silverado...

the cat cuts about 15-20 decibals off the sound and hp.i had to replace a cat to pass inspection and it choked the engine a bit from having just the fm 40 series muffler i had there before.its not as bad as i expected but it is noticeable.a high performance strait thru cat would help that ,but i just put the standard 2 1/4 cat in to save money.
