I know i saw this some where on the board when I did a search but I can't find it again.
Anyways, Gm necked there exhaust from a 3" to a 2.25" or 2.5" right?

It's kind of a generic question. What years? What models? Where on the vehicle?

No exhaust manifold outlet on our trucks was larger than about 2.5".

Sorry, in particular my 84' /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif. I thought that I read on here that at the manifold it was 3" and continued to the cat but on the other side of the cat it was 2.5"/2.25". Is this true?

Often from the 'y' pipe to the front of the cat. is 3.0".

The Y-pipe on my '87 TBI 305 with factory cat is 2.5". The cat is 2.5" in/out.
