Well The Exhuast system on my truck is Starting to rust my truck in one spot. everyone I know tells me I should change the exhaust system around, they also tell me striaght out the back of the truck. Well thats a problem, I never shut the rear window on my truck unless its raining. So how do you guys recomend running the exhaust. Right now Its a single 3 inch

Thanks

On mine I went with the out the back behind the wheels at about a 45* angle with duals and 2.5" pipe sounds really good too, but unfortanatly i still can smell some exhaust from time to time i also beleive that the rear wings help with forcing the air down the back of the truck too.

Do not go straight out the back unless you wana smell exhaust all the time. (that is how my last system was it sucked) I 45 mine out in front of the back tires on either side. Only once and a great while do i notice any fumes.

I was trying to move the exhust away from the body so it dont rust again. Would some sorta big arse exhaust tip work:o

probly , most of the exhaust tips have and air chamber around the pipe which would cool it. i wouldnt think that the exhaust had anything to do with the rust though. i would suspect it more to be just conciednce.

You could also get your buddy at the body shop to paint the lower rocker with the color matching "rhino liner" bout 6" up from the bottom. it will also help keep rocks from chipping the paint. He should have some of the generic ones that can be tinted to match, or you can just do the plain black it would look nicer if it was tinted to match though. Id fix the body get rid of all the rust prime and spray on some tinted liner and put tips on the exhaust.

HMM... I like that Idea I am not much a fan of the textured look but still a neat idea

Funny, my uncle(the previous owner) accualy suggested doing the same thing with rhino linin the rockers.

I forgot who told me this but It makes the rockers a little less prone to rock damage, is this true? also What do you think it would cost to have that done?

I'd go with some 2 1/2" duals, with turndowns. I ran the same without turndowns and never noticed any exhaust smell.

I dont know I am accualy pretty cheap and exhaust system is expensive.

I could just use the pipe i got, cut it, mod it, out the back turn down

yeah the liner does help to a certain degree on bumps and such. now its gona dent if you slam a rock, but it will hold up pretty good for just normal weekend warrior wheelin. it gives the metal a lil extra strength. Cost wise depends on how good of a friend you have at the body shop. but you can look online and order the durabak brand pretty cheap. and ud only need bout a pint of paint. material wise id say bout 100-150 then it just depends on ur buddy's labor. could probly do it for under 300.00. alot less if he dosnt charge you labor

If you like where it exits now, leave it alone and fix a little rust again in another 30 years. I like where it exits stock as it allows me to keep an eye on the exhaust color to see if there is any problems before a gauge might.
