Well, I went out and got over 110 feet of 1.5 tubing to start my outer cage!!!!! I also got some 2x4 tubing for my front bumper and winch mount. I should be well into the cage by tomorrow evening. I will let ya know how it turns out.

This will be great to see. I've always liked the exocage used on Land Rovers. 'Shades of the road warrior.
Someone makes brush guards that wrap up over the hood, I can remember who. The look pretty wild.

man that sounds awesome

love to see pic after you are done

Hey DBlazer
I started thinking about how many feet of tubing you were going to need and I think your going to need more. What do you think, (you probably already knew this) and how many feet do you think your going to use?

Michael

sound good man. i realy could use one on my rig. black is good. i just don't get the pink and purple things that go down the road. eh go figure

if your doing a full outer cage, you will need alot more tubing, I used 160 feet just caging my street stock/enduro 77 malibu stock car....gusset all the corners also, makes big difference in strength. hope your bender has a angle guage , makes things easier. Did my first cage after hours in a midas muffler shop. Man was that a treat. Just my two cents...can't wait to see your cage when it's done......ED

Oh man do I need more tubing!!!!! The cage is going very slow guys, We just git a new welder at the shop, A miller 200 amp!!!!!!! So the going is getting easier. I was planning on heading up to th shop to work on it all day tomorow(friday) BUT!!!!!! My damn front right hub area is making a godawful grinding sound so I have to look at it tomorrow, and I now have to repair my F#^@ked up trailer, its pretty cool my dove tail now sits about .75" off the ground, UNLOADED!!!!!!!! So soon, I promise!!!

Hey Nashu, have you got a diagram or sketch of your exocage? I'm also thinking of doing one in the future. I've been doing some sketches to see what it would look like.
Thanks.

Cool Paul, think I've seen that before. I'd like to make it not too over bearing, but provide protection over the cab and cap area. Would like to also use it double duty as a platform and carrier for a car topper alum. boat and if possible removeable. Have it tie to a custom rear bumper and custom side sliders/side bars. Have to really brainstorm on this one....
