Expected MPG?

I had a 7.4 vortec in a cclb 4x4 with 4.10's and 33's. I averaged about 11 with mixed (but really mostly highway) driving and not much more if it was all highway. Gearing and weight make a big difference, my dad has the same truck as I had but 2wd, a short bed and 3.73's instead of 4.10's and it'll get an honest 14 on the highway.

What's your goal for the vehicle? Toy, tow rig, daily driver, all of the above?

Truck

DD, toy, grocery/everything hauler.

I have a Ram 1500, I can't used the bed when the weather sucks. Plus I'm bored with it. Up here everyone's got a Ram or a Ford. The Burb is unique and about the same length.

My buddy's 94 2500 7.4L lifted Suburban seems to get right at 10 no matter what.Towing or empty.

My burb pulled 12 last i checked. That tank was all towing and a whole lot of foot romping. I was running late to work my first day after a transfer and i went 100 the whole way and pulled every corner just short of rolling it. Mine is a bone stock 3/4 ton 2wd though.

Mpg

So based on experience here it seems like it could range anywhere from 6 to 12 MPG. That is a wide estimate. The dealer wants $1500+ trade in+ cost for title and tags. I think that's a little too much, for a 14 year old truck with a rolled odometer. (Which of course he says is error not a roll back)
