hey i have a 1979 k5 and im about to put a 12" suspension lift on it by superlift. I know i need extended driveshafts, but am not sure where to get them. if anyone knows where to find these, please tell me, all i have been able to find is heavy duty driveshafts, nothing about longer or extended driveshafts

driveshafts are usually cutom built. You need to find a shop or Kert at diy4x.com makes shafts now.

I had my front driveshaft lengthened and a custom rear CV driveshaft made.

I contacted Kert as I'd heard (read, actually) good things about him. I called twice and he never came back with a price.

I called a number of shops; locally and some others mentioned on this forum.

I had them made by Tatton's in Salt Lake City. (Phone number: 801-685-0056)

Curtis gave me an excellent price and customer service was really great. There was a delay of a day or two to get the size tubing I wanted as the local supplier was out. He called me and kept me in the loop.

I recommend him highly!

have you recieved the shafts yet to see the quality or are you basing your recomendation on price and customer service alone.... when you can post pics you should post some up of your rig and the new shafts so others can see these products....

I picked up the driveshafts several months ago (I live about 45 minutes away from his shop). His phone call letting me know there would be a delay saved me a wasted trip to SLC.

My experience is that 95%+ of shops would not have called, rather they would have told me after I had gone there to pick up the item at the time they told me it would be ready.

The project is not yet complete, but pretty close. I haven't driven the vehicle yet, so my comments on Tatton's quality were based on visual inspection.

I'm not a "real" member, so I can't post photos, however I'll be glad to email you some photos if you give me your email address. The driveshafts are installed, so any photos would be of them in the vehicle.

to post pics you will need to use tinypic or photobucket type pic hosting and you will be able to link pics all day long on here....

A 12 " lift will require something with more than 30 degree's of angle - it kinda depends on what angles you end up with which c/v or non c/v would be best- Jess
