The passenger side connecting rod thing from the handle button came disconnected recently, making it impossible to open that door from the outside. I may have asked this previously, but is there any trick to getting it hooked up? Access is non-existent. I'm tempted to get a hole saw and make an access panel.

I forget what’s in the way, refresh my memory.
You may need to remove the door glass scissor mechanism and prop the window up - not that difficult. It’s been years since I rebuilt my doors and the glass was about the last thing I put in so lots of room

It's that it is right next to the outer edge of the door and the nearest opening in the steel structure is 6-8" inboard. No particular other mechanisms in the way to speak of.

I think when I put mine together, I removed the screws from the door latch so I'd have an easier time to connect that. Connecting the rod to the door button, you'll probably have an easier time taking the handle off and doing it outside the truck.

I remember it being a hassle and taking the latch off was the trick. Believe I did mine last as well, having the glass and everything else in place already.

the only access to the top of the rod ,is to unbolt the outside handle.

That rings a bell. :waytogo:

To be more clear, the top of the rod is connected to the handle just fine. It's dangling and not connected to the latch mechanism. I can see what I need to do, but reaching in there and doing it seems impossible.

The plastic clip the holds the rod to solenoid is broken. It can be replaced with window up and the panel removed. It is easier to remove clip to inner door handle, then unbolt the window solenoid for easier access.
