My truck blew the fuel pump and I need to use it Friday, I know this isn't the best way to do it but will the external pump work without removing the internal in tank pump? I just need it to last for Friday, and I know I'm wasting money doing it this way but money isn't a issue. No I'm not rich just need my truck....

I doubt it could pull through it. Possible but I doubt it. Would depend on how the in tank failed.

What I meant was, was it a mechanical or electrical failure? Did the vanes break in the pump or did the motor just stop spinning.
It's a electrical failure, it doesn't hum anymore.

I do want to do it correctly, but that involves a new tank and new lines. I want to do it this way to "get by for 30 miles" After I'm done I can sell the pump to my roommate who needs one anyway. Basically I'm trying to be lazy and not drop the tank multiple times.

How many psi to operate? The internal pump is going to restrict flow, enough so the truck won't drive is an unknown.

Rent a car then fix your truck properly...if you're headed to Dinos' just rent a trailer or print a picture and put that in the parking spot.

Are you trying to avoid dropping the tank? I would say drop the tank and remove the internal pump. If you have a longer piece of submersible hose, throw that on in place of the pump. Otherwise, keep the tank full enough to submerge the bit of hose that was connected to the pump.

I just don't think you could pull thru the in-tank pump.
