Hey Guys,

I want to upgrade my existing K5 Blazer 88 SUV into an extreme offroad racing rig. Can you guys help me on what kind of changes is best? This will also be used as a daily driver. I know that this is a lot of questions, and I hope that you guys help me.

I have decided to change existing suspensions with coilover by offroad design with lift.

Should I replace or upgrade my existing 350 engine currently with holy offroad carb and old 350 transmission with new generation engine with new transmission and transfer case with good rock crawling offroad torque and race and highway over-drive for better mileage. Ideally to run on low quality dirty fuel as sometimes gas is of poor quality in off road terrain and ideally an engine which has better gas economy due to limited availability of gas in off road terrain and if it has something which can switch to high gas usage during offroad race competition as shown on

And what kind of tire, rims, differentials, lockers, axles etc.

THanks,

The truck pictured is for sale for $200,000. You could buy this, and bolt your 1988 K5 to its frame because it makes as much sense as what you are asking to have an all out racer and daily driver. Hows the wheeling in Pakistan?

The fuel you run is based on the engine you put in. Building for premium then putting lower octane in is going to cause detonation and kill the motor quickly. You linked a KOH highlight vid, if thats what you are after, an 88k5 is almost the worst thing to start with.. Build a buggy and be done with it. Many companies offer kits, goatbilt, bomber etc.

Looks great... but cant import as we have 200% duty :( We have an amazing fun terrain and itching to race and crawl those rocks out there... I am the only one in Pakistan with an oldie K5 blazer which actually works... so getting desperate to hit those rocks out there.. its my daily driver rig and its a head turner out here

I want to work on my rig and enhance its capability

Did not notice your location... Makes more sense now.

Just get ahold of Offroad Design and they can hook you up with what you need. They did a build a few years back where they built an entire rig for a customer, and IIRC ripped everything off and sent it somewhere overseas.
