Can anyone recommend a shop that performs this? Why you ask? Well because I am going to put a little performance in the old SBC TBI including Trick Flow cylinder heads and as far as I know no CARB leagal intake exists so the OEM cast iron is getting massaged.
Thanks in advance.

And no I can't swap an LS motor, flux capacitor or anything else really cool into this vehicle. Believe me I want to but am stuck in CA for the foreseeable future.

It’s really expensive, like two to three times the cost of the Edelbrock, black paint and a grinder wheel.

Also not worth it on a stock intake, it’s more like polishing really.

Who are you going to have do the tuning? 383, aftermarket heads, and TBI aren't going to play well. Don't want to be condescending, just making sure you are aware of the complexities this is going to introduce.

I appreciate the interest. I changed my plans bit and am going with the turnkey https://westcoastengines.com/383-stroker/tbi/
They have a place called Motervation that does the chip.
My TBI was rebulilt by Sean at https://www.sprperformance.com/services-1
I got the

Well as long as their support is good, can't see how you can go wrong.

Just paint it all black to keep prying eyes from looking too closely?

That is what I am hoping for. Making a choice for an engine replacement/change sucks here in the land of bureaucratic excess. I did exhaustive research so it is what it is. Black is just the color I picked.

Well technically you can swap an LS, it just has to be a 6.0 or bigger if your engine now is the 350sbc.
If you have the 305, then you can put the 5.3
The only rule for California is the engine has to be same size or bigger and has to retain all original smog equipment.
I am going with a tbi 350 in my 85 to make smog easier.

You are correct, but my referee pointed me away because of some new trends at the smog HQ aimed at shutting downer tuners. Apparently the state will reject swaps if the lines of code from the donor vehicle are tampered with. I can't vouch for the accuracy but that's what he said so I am keeping the OBD 1 and at least the footprint of the OEM engine

Oh I know, lots of people get the LS then modify it and tune it and then you can't smog them here but out of the box, they are better engines so no need to do all that if you just want a better more reliable engine

Agree, they are superior to nearly all else commonly available.
