eye candy, 1960 or 1961 chevy 4x4

First truck I ever drove... it was a field truck back home

1964 Chevrolet "Heavy Half" 4X4, 3 on the Tree, oil bath air filter, straight six

Gorgeous! I'd love to own one in ALL original state someday.

i have a 64 1/2 ton 2wd, shortbed, straight six, three on the tree...drivetrain is stock, but i lowered it about 3 inches, shaved the drip rails, installed tear drop tail lights in the rear fenders, and added ralley wheels.
although the 230 6cyl doesn't have much horsepower, it does have good torque and is fun to drive.
i've always thought about removing the 230 and installing a 350 that i have, but it runs so smooth and it's kind of cool having the original motor and practically everything else....
oh yeah, it only has 100,000 miles on it

i love my 64

My uncle has a 1960 Apache 10 shortbed stepside 2wd with the 235 I-6 and 4 on the floor. That was the first truck I drove when I was 11 or 12. We'd go out on a dirt road and he'd put it in granny and I'd take the wheel. Even though we were only going 5mph, I was lovin' it. We went on many, many camping trips in it over the years.

When I got my Blazer a few years ago, he told me that if I rolled it, he got the frame so he could make "Ole' Darlin'" a 4x4. Now she's just sitting in his yard and he has no plans for her at all. :(

My 1st truck was a '66 Apache 4x4 big window. I ditched it when I blew the T-case. Dumb move, but that is what 18 year olds do. I will have to see if I can find some old pics.
