Ok what I have is a 74 K20 frame and drive terrain (350ci, sm 465, 205, d44, 14b) and I mounted a 82 diesel crew cab 3+3 w/ auto column on to the frame. Bear with me for this is my first full on electrical rewire, so ya .

I was orginally going to scab together the wiring but seeing that it causes several issues mainly a fire hazzard I thought it be best to get a harness:doah:. Thus went w/ EZ wiring 21 circuit. Like other comments on here it is a good product especially for the price:wink1:.

Now my question is how (even if i can) utilize the stock cluster? I will eventually upgrade to after market gauges when the cash flow is better (aka i graduate college). Also the kit did not come pre pig tailed for the column, so i was wondering if any one has a diagram or knows where the wires go (if that makes sense)? It did come with the right adapter however, and I haven't had a chance to call ez wire up for I am sure they would be able to answer this, that is tomorrow's project. Also is there any unseen issues that may arise that any one encountered using this harness.

Right now that is really my only hang up is all the wiring in the cab. Every thing else seems fairly idiot proof.

i rewired my '73 k5 a couple of weeks ago with the same EZ Wiring 21 harness. I took my time and used heat shrink and wire loom to make everything pretty and secure.

you can reuse the stock cluster, in fact i am just gonna use trial and error to find the correct posts on the back of the gauges and hook them up (still need to do that:doah:)

for the column connector, i'm assuming you mean the long black connector for the turn signal switch, etc? there is a diagram of what hooks up to what in the booklet that comes with the harness. (pg 9)

you'll need the original connectors for the neutral safety, backup lights, brake light switch, and headlight switch, plus adding in your own grounds

there will only be a power wire for the windshield wipers/washer, the rest of the wiring will need to be added in from switch to motor by you (you'll need the connectors for these as well, or just use spade terminals).

hope this helps, pm me if you've got some more questions

That does help. I was afraid on the gauges. Not that it is hard I just don't want to go through the hassle. I might just get some summit gauges or something. I think I took out to much wire. I basically gutted it all (got to excited). I left the heater stuff going from the selector thing-a-jig to the heater box, but pretty but took everything else out.

I am going to do this this weekend so if I run into any issues I will be PMin you.

Thanks again.

i'm running Sunpro water temp and oil pres., eventually i'll get a complete set of matching aftermarket. as for ripping out too much, you'll be surprised how much is in the harness, i have about half of the wires capped and rolled up under the dash since my truck is barebones (no power anything haha) It's fairly straightforward, but let me know cuz i can post up pics or help explain etc. good luck:waytogo:
