I didn't realize that gm made some extra cabs. Looks like a nice addition. Wonder why this was not an option.

They didn't. Its done by an aftermarket company. I believe the history behind them is they only exist because they were built for a pipeline company in AK.

covered lots of times here over the years.

aftermarket body modification company did them like limo's / 6 door crew cabs / 4 door ext cabs .

these pop up now and then . and all I have ever seen were 1/2 ton .

There's one by my dads house. I can see one sitting across the field at work that hasn't moved since I've been here.

IMO they are ugly

the one in the OP has a rear side window that is too small. if it filled the side panel a little better it'd be nicer. the one that was by me had a bigger side window and body color louvers on them. plus it had one of them fiberglass angled light bar deals mounted behind the cab. was sweet. some do look funny though.

There used to be a lot of them around here. They were around 85-86 models. Most were 3/4 ton 4X4's. The coolest one was an extended cab 4 door K30. They were all originally long beds. The cab was extended 14 inches and the long bed was replaced with a short bed.

The one in the link in the 1st post looks like the long bed was shortened and reused.

That's pretty cool I wouldn't mind finding one in good condition near me. Don't really like the seats but they could be swapped out for a bench seat from a 90's ext cab
