factory eaton posi question

my friend has a 72 with the eaton posi unit in the 12 bolt from the factory. it seems to make a lot of noise when turning but sometimes it doesn't take much turning for it to start popping and cracking.

im kinda curious if anyone else experiences this. maybe a limited slip additive would help?

The factory limited-slip in my '71 Burb would do the same thing. The friction modifier additive helps quite a bit. It is much quieter when added.
