When I swapped the NV4500 into my Suburban a few years back, I recognized that the clutch pedal assembly didn't have any sort of spring or anything like that and as a result, the pedal feel is crazy light. I've lived with it but it's finally gotten on my nerves enough where I want to do something about it.

Was there a spring on the factory hydraulic clutch pedal assembly that made the pedal stiffer?

The majority of your clutch pedal feel is going to come from pressure plate. My 6.2 diesel/sm465 has an orielly HD clutch in it and I would consider the clutch feel “perfect” but if it was any less it would be awkward for sure.

My nv4500 swap used the correct square body clutch/brake pedal set with a squarebody clutch master mated to the factory integrated slave for a later 4500.

I’ll admit the clutch feel is lighter than my factory nv3500 s10 clutch despite the similar integrated slave. Like 4xor mentioned the “feel” comes from the pressure plate. I’m running a centerforce on my Blazer. The S10 has a stock clutch and it’s definitely got a stiffer feel.

The pressure plate would be the difference as long as the bores on the master and slave are the same. That might be the first thing to compare. A bigger bore master or smaller slave would require more pedal force, if changing things is even an option.

I just swapped out the clutch/hydraulics in my Camaro, went with a Tick adjustable master - bigger bore. Doesn't take much bore to make a noticeable change. It's got more leg than factory.
