So this guy wants to sell me this 10b from an 84' diesel 3/4 ton Silverado, he says it has factory lockers front and rear. "Factory tags read lockers front and rear", is this guy pulling my leg or what cause I've never heard of this before? And its to far away to just ''run over'' and check out, so what do ya'll think. Price is kind of high anyway ($250) so prob. wont get it. Thanks.

I seriously doubt chevy put a front locker in any light truck, actually I would almost bet they never did. There may be a posi in it, but it never came from the factory in the front end.....

I shopped for GM trucks a lot back in that era. At least in the 70's through the 90's, GM never offered any traction enhancing device in the front axle.

The '79 F-150 that I bought new was the only vehicle I ever owned that came with a front traction aid from the factory. It had a Trac-Loc up front, in addition to the one out back. It pulled like mad in the mud! :)

They did if you were the military.

Yep, thats what I had planned, got it now and love it!

The military aplication angle had me thinking to but this truck does not sound like a cucv. He still has yet to produce a pic. but claims "These axles sell for twice that in the yards around hear". What ever! I thought about telling him that I got my 60f for $600 "around hear", but I figured I'd play with him for a while. :D

Ah, I forget about the military trucks. But still, did they offer a front posi in anything other than the Dana 60 fronts?

I went to look at a '72 K20 Cheyenne Super that was for sale a couple hours away, and the seller said it had a front posi. I was doubtful, but I popped the diff cover and it did, it was a Trak-Lok as well. It was listed on the glovebox RPO sheet but I forget what as. This truck was amazingly loaded with options, the sticker was almost covered. It had a 350/TH350/NP205, ps, pb, Cheyenne Super trim, bedside toolbox, wood bed floor (fleetside), a/c, manual throttle, cab running lights, dealer installed PTO winch, buckets/console, tach dash, tinted glass, slider, swing out trailer mirrors, tow hooks, etc etc etc.

I've also seen it listed on the RPO sticker of a '71 Jimmy barebone- 250 L6, 3 on the tree, Dana 20, front and rear posi + the hardtop and seats were the only options on it.

They did put limited slips in the front of some early '70s trucks, I have seen it listed on the option sticker. No lockers though.

3/4 ton Silverado is not going to be a CUCV in any way shape or form. :)
