Factory Roll bar

Has anyone used the factory roll bar from the 70's K5s in there 80s ones? i have a buddy who i can get one off of for very cheap, and i looked at it today and fit it up. my plan was to turn it around, so the bar goes right around the end of the cab, similar to the smittybilt ones. it only looks like id need to extend the back pipe 4 or 5 inches. has anyone done this before?

yep I did this the other night. The bar is actually made out of some good tube. 1 3/4"x.120 DOM.
I just sleeved it with some 1 1/5" where I extended it. Still need to finish the cage but I like how tight it follows the lines of the cab.
