Any one have a factory roll bar in there blazer? I have a 88 and trying to figure out its supposed to Mount. It came out of an 80-82 blazer. Pics if you have would b great

The bar from an 80's truck will mount in the rear by the tailgate with the little kicker legs bolting to the wheel well humps.

The front legs sit on about the middle of the inner fender, with a 1/4 steel plate with nuts welded on them, welded to the inside of the inner fender. Same with the main hoop, only 2 bolts on those. The plates on the hoop is molded for the ribs of the floor

You got it backwards.the hoop goes behind the front seats with the downbars facing rearward and bolt to the wheelwells

The earlier style went behind the cab. My blazer is a 79, from 76 and up they ran them this way if yours was one of the rare ones to have them. There was no need for them the be right behind the half-cab as it was designed to act as a roll bar.

wow.ive never seen a rollbar in that location before without it being attached to a b pillar hoop as a family cage.looks weird like that.i guess it would still save the rear passengers as the front cab would protect the front passengers.my bad.and you have a n ice clean truck man.i dig the paint.real nice

If you watch Jaws, the first one. When they are driving in the jimmy, you can see the blue roll bar in the background. Looks just like mine. That was the first one other than mine I saw.

Not that it means much, but, I looked at an 82 IIRC , it was on evilbay located in GA and it too had a factory bar mounted the same as Cornfeilds. Two of the full verts I have owned have had the factory bar mounted at the B pillar, they were both 75's.

Thanks for the pics. Mine must b meant to go the other way

My rollbar came out of a 77K5 it was mounted in the back but I was able to turn in around and mount it behind the cab. I had to heat the front half of the front mounting plates with a torch and bend them down to make them flush with the lip under the bench seat. This is the only pic I have of it.
