I am finding that the factory tach was only available from 1973-1982. Just want to see if I am right. Interested in who all has a factory tach (from the factory, not swapped in). Pictures are a plus.

I had a '71 CST Blazer that had a factory tach dash...not sure if any older trucks had one available..

I guess I really don't care about the 1967-1972 trucks. Still wouldn't hurt to compile information on them for others.

parted out a 80 k30 with 350/465/205 combo and 12k gvw trailer towing package . it had 1 in it and it had the whole newer 80-up style font gauges in it .

also had high back bucket seats and white interior :eek1:

Yeah I remember that rig. Definitely a cool truck in it's day.

I assume you kept the gauge cluster when you cut it up?

I've sold a lot clusters over the years, hardly any came from 80s trucks, other than medium duty. Never seen a diesel pickup with a tach, again, only medium duty....

My old '77 K5 came with a factory tach, it was a well optioned Cheyenne model that came with a 400 originally.

I saw one in an '88 or '89 V3500 once and was just about to buy it for the tach when it sold unexpectedly. Went for $2500.

And no, it wasn't added in. The numbers on it matched the ones on the speedo and other gauges, too.

I had a '77 with a tach, I eventually parted it out. It was a K10, 400, TH350, NP203, D44, 12 bolt.

Also parted out a '69 C20 with a tach.

Fwiw, a close friend of mine had an '80 GMC K2500, loaded with a tach (on RPO sticker in glove box). Damn neat truck.
