I think he is trying to say finding them is near impossible... I've never had trouble finding them. Mainly have problems with what people think they are worth.

I think I paid $50 for the complete cluster assy with wiring I put into my '79 K10. I've seen them for sale anywhere from $10-150 depending on condition, how complete they are, ect.
If you look in the larger C60 size trucks at the wrecking yards you will have better luck finding them. But, don't expect to find any that work with the 6.2L diesel. GM didn't offer them. You can make a gas version work with a few mods though.

I was not referring to aftermarket tachs. I have an Autometer tach on my shelf, new, and I paid over $100 for it. Its just "decoration" for now.
