I got this pair of tow hooks a while back off another K5 and curious will they fit my 87 K5 and if someone can show a picture to where they should bolt from the factory? Number 616 is stamped on both tow hooks. Trying to get parts off self and on the truck, tired of the clutter in the garage. Thanks!

Were they off of an earlier truck?

Later ones are pretty distinct, particularly how the bolt holes are formed and arranged. I suspect those won't work, unless they are an aftermarket set and the donor was an '81-91 K5. At least the '81+ trucks all have the tow hook holes in the frame. No idea if all '81+ trucks or sometime after that, but GM started riveting in a reinforcement plate where the tow hooks mount as well, I assume to keep the frame holes from pulling through or ripping.

These are for the 81-87/91

I don't see holes in frame for any tow hooks but has been least a year or so I have had them. I want to say was from 81 up model.

I've never seen this type of tow hook on a chevy truck but that doesn't mean there weren't any.

It was on a K5 no doubt in my mind as I grabbed couple other parts from it.

These are stock tow hooks with the 73-80 shown. They have 73-?

Then the 81-91 from earlier.

The ones you have look pretty beefy but not sure they would work on an 87?

Damn hope my holes are different finding a set would be a B%tch I have a feeling and costly!

yup my holes in frame are like that!! Sucks for me..... I see how they had these in the other K5 I think they used the lower 2 holes for them but then it is all over that bumper which then it is not useful really at all.

I think I have a late model set if you want to do a transaction. :deal:

They are pretty awesome for a factory piece. I had them on for a long time, but got an aftermarket bumper.

I didn't figure that those would be hard to find, I have several sets around my place.

Now the '72 only ones are big dollars!

Those hooks at the top post are not anything associated with GM. Not anything I've ever seen either. But that doesn't mean you can't use them. They look beefy enough to use so just position them and drill some holes in the frame horns.
