Question for anyone who has relocated the factory transmission crossmember:

Did you drill holes in both the top and bottom of the frame? My current crossmember mounts to both the bottom and top of the frame rail and I have no idea how I am gonna drill the top holes.

On a side note, I am swapping a th350/np203 to a 700R4/np205 and I am doing a custom mount for the rear of the np205 (http://www.tmrcustoms.com/store/ind...id=732&zenid=2d81a25a09311f59079d39609baf72a9)

So consider that, can I just do a custom mount for the transmission that bolts to the bottom of the frame since the combo will be supported in both places?

Thanks,
John

Obviously if you can do top and bottom, it's way better. Keep the frame rails from twisting as much as possible. Having said that. Most crossmembers (in the doubler crossmember thread) are only bolted to the bottom. My factory bracket was only into the bottom. My new crossmember is only into the bottom (though spanning more frame length) If I ever pull the body off, it will have kickers to the top of the frame....along with many other supports.
