OK if I may I just got a rear wind deflector for my blazer. The guy sent the screws and rubber gaskets but no nuts or however they mount into the top. He was junking the rig and also the top.

What I need to know is how it attach's into the topper (pictures of a factory mount) would help. I am thinking that the nuts are formed into recessed holes in the top. Now this is where it gets hairy, if so do I drill the hole so the screw fits in it and put a nut in towards the top of hole. If I do that I then would have to get someone to fiberglass the top area. I don't want to drill all the way through the top to mount nuts and bolts :doah:( won't do it).

Any one got pics of how the factory mounts are? I wish the guy would of been closer I would of gotten the topper. Windows were good and wouldn't have to mess with this. He was in Iowa just a tad to far to drive for top.

I looked in my GM assembly manual and didn't see the deflector listed.
OH remember I am poor (why I am not a member anymore) till after the first of year. So I can't see pictures unless hosted off site.

Go to a GOOD hardware store and buy "well nuts". They are sort of like a transom plug for a boat. Metal threaded sleeve surrounded by rubber, with a flange on the mounting surface. Drill the hole the diameter of the rubber, push the well nut in all the way, then screw the deflector mounts to them.

The top I bought had the deflector originally, but the threaded nuts were all messed up, so I had to replace them. The well nuts I used had the same threads as the factory deflector bolts.

IIRC the original nuts were the same type as used for the door mirror mounts.
