faded hard top on 87.

if the pebblegrain has been taken out before it was painted (meaning smooth like your hood), you can buff it easily... if it still has the pebblegrain you can remove the oxidation too, its just more difficult..
 
it is the fiberglass material. There is very little paint left. So it is ok to just paint the top? what paint should I use? Anyone ever painted theirs?
 
I sanded mine down and "painted" it with rattlecan bedliner. Mine was originally white, but now it is black. The PO had previously repainted it with HOUSE PAINT. :mad:

The bedliner returns the stock "pebbled" look.
 
i would suggest scrubbing it down with a scuff pad to take any sheen off it.. damp towel/ dry towel with denatured alcohol before painting...
