Fair market value

How do you determine fair market value of a vehicle..

I know NADA and KBB

but they are generic...

trying to determine the market value of my truck, that is not listed in any of the books or websites..none of these specify special made models or limited year productions

where to find more specific determination of value?

Was that a dealer model, or an actual production model by GM? Looks like a regular Z71 with some aftermarket wheels and some vinyl lettering, like something a dealer would have had done by a local custom shop to jack the price tag up when new... If so it won't show up on kbb and edmunds etc, and probably isn't worth anything more than what they list for a Z71 of that year, miles, and options.

Its an actual limited production model... There are maybe a few hundred total in the country..

it came with the decals, 2" drop, 20" rims, stainless dual exhaust, K&N intake (factory changed ducting), electric cooling fans, automatic airbags, bug-flectors, and window guards, interior chrome accents, rear drum brakes, in tank fuel filter/ pump combo, 3.42 gears..

it was made 1 year (in 2005) the same year the SS was not made

Its actually probably less desirable than the bazillion of Z71's out there. Limited doesn't always mean people will pay more or want it. Look at what comparable Z71's (not limited to what you have) are going for in your area. Pretty easy to check and go off of that. If I remember correct you feel it isn't enough (no personality) and were looking make it special? Not trying to burst your limited bubble, just being real...

Its got 130k on it

regular Z71 with comparable mileage and options run from 8500- 10500.. from fair to average condition,

All aftermarket parts? I found a couple posts on the SSC, so far looks like they are all slightly different...

I found a few threads on other sites arguing over who built them, and they all seem slightly different. I found a few posts that say they were ordered that way, but it almost seems like they were maybe ordered from a conversion company like a conversion van? We used to build similar vehicles using a local custom shop when I sold new cars for a living. We would throw on a cold air kit, aftermarket exhaust, lift kits or some would be lowered, power sunroofs, vent visors, fancy decals and pin striping, etc. and jack the sticker price up by $5 or $6k. We even gave them cool package names and window stickers that we attached next to the original manufacturers window sticker. Almost every one of them was a limited production, they were one of a kind!
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but absent any concrete documentation that says gm built them, which would be really cool if they did, it throws up some red flags to me.

Then I would say thats what its worth. Just remember 9/10 people will find the wheels and drop a turn off. I for one would walk away from the truck after seeing chrome interior accents (pet peeve of mine, cant stand it). Things like this are opinion based and the majority of the market it more than likely just looking for a truck. Especially since its 4wd.

then all the other trucks you would talk about (Southern Comfort edition, Big Texan Edition and the like) are just kits (even though some came with exotic leather, lift kits, special engines etc)

Not everything is cookie cutter...Im not saying i have this Diamond in the rough, but dealers have options for a reason

and if you look. I posted on that post a few times. His truck is not a real SSC

and being that alot of parts are VIN specific (I know lots of vehicle have dealer only parts) but being its 7 years old, and still major parts stores dont have listing for ALOT of parts makes it different in itself..

Ill agree not everyone wants something like that, but it is different..

And obviously the price wasnt cranked up because of what it was cause i bought it with 50k and it cost me $11k

Same here, when leasing a vehicle was scetchy back in the day... those rigs made FAT gross profit!
And like Stomis said, not a big market for lowered 4X's.

Dont let your purchase price fool you, it was taken in at LOW wholesale and the dealer made frogskins off you.

Where did you get this idea that there are two different displacement 5.3's?

Martin

I guess that cant happen either right? Since ya know there only 1the 5.0L engine? Must have made the 302, 304, 305, 307 not 5.0's becuase there only one right?

I can't find anything saying it's a GM package. Window sticker?

I know all about the different 5.0 liter engines. GM has only made ONE 5.3 liter Gen III small block.
