Hey everybody I'm fixin to get a new exhaust system built for my 76 k5. It's got original manifolds and I'm looking to get a true dual system built from the manifolds back no cats, I already have the 2 mufflers so they aren't included in the cost. Planning on taking the truck to meinike and I will be bringing it to the shop with no exhaust on it so they won't charge me to take the old exhaust off. What is a fair price for them to build me a true dual system, with me supplying mufflers. And I don't have to pass inspection so that's not an issue. Thanks guys.

Price varies with location but don't be surprised if they come back with a 400 to 500 dollar quote

Yah shop around. I had the same thing. Got a quote for $400 from one shop.

Under $200 from another.

Don't go to Meinike. Find a local exhaust shop. Much cheaper and usually better work.
I did the same thing got my k10. From headers to tip was $550 including a magnaflow muffler, CA approved cat and double walled stainless tip.

Opposite is true here the local places are more expensive but do way better work. Chain stores are cheaper.

A note though places like meineke and others will often use pre bent kits. You can get a pre bent kit from summit for around 250. Supposed to bolt right up. I have had one years ago and it worked fine

I had dual exhaust installed on my m1009 from Meineke. I think I paid $270, with me supplying the mufflers. This was from manifolds back. Friend of a friend did the install so I'm sure I got a little discount

Not sure if your '76 came from the factory with cats or not, but if it did, the larger chain stores may not install the exhaust without them. Doesn't matter if you don't have emissions testing or not.

The meineke here is awesome. They do true duals for under $300 and usually never go over no matter how difficult the exhaust is.

Ask around locally. They will be of more help than us. A LOT of shops do not care for you bringing your own parts in.
