Fair price for a turbo 400 trans and NP205

Good friend of mine wants to buy a set from me and I haven't priced these things in quite a while. I've sworn off all automagic transmissions from here on out so I don't even look at the prices.

What's the going rate, to a good buddy?

Every set I sold went for $500 but I have bought them as low as $250 in good condition, so I would say a fair price would be $200 250 for a friend.

Around here just a TH400 K case will bring you between $100-150 alone and a full ready to run TH400 will bring closer to $350 and then another $200-300 for the matching 205 t-case.

I paid $600 for mine with the TH400/NP205, adaptor and shifter. The 205 was the fixed rear yoke style and it was a 30 spline front. I sold my 700R4/NP208 for $350, so for $250 I had a strength upgrade. I did not know the person I bought it from, but it was in working condition, so I thought that was the fair price with the adaptor and shifter.
