Swapping my 700r4 for a nv4500 and figured I'd swap in a manual steering colomn during the build. Whats a fair price for a rebuilt manual steering colomn with all new guts? Found one for 200 bucks. Thanks in advance for the replies...Dave

It depends on what year column you need. Generally, the older it is the more desirable (and expensive) it becomes. Something from the mid to late 80's should be pretty cheap.

I just shaved the old stuff off of an automatic column to convert it to manual and that was pretty cheap.

1990 blazer. Brand new ignition lock & 2 keys, cruise control & wiper delay, along with wiper delay module, & wiring.

If you have the cash, then that's probably not a bad deal and is the least amount of hassle, especially if your existing column has issues.

Current colomn is for an auto swaping in a 5 speed. Thanks for the help...Dave

I would say that is probably a fair price. The TS/cruise stalk alone is very expensive, let alone the amount of time and effort in making a column really clean and work well.

I'd say very fair, if it's a pretty much new column... I used to pay $150 for the same for all my Chevelles, 15, 20 yrs ago..

I wouldn't have been surprised if you had said 300...
