I run a high school auto shop and also teach a college level evening engine rebuilding class! A student is just finishing up a 6.0 LQ4 from 2001 or 2002. I know the engine has been built well! We have checked and double check every clearance, used all knew arp bolts. Engine was bored 30 over. New Pistons, rod, cam, etc. Cam installed was not hugely aggressive but set to low end torque etc. Heads were went through, new springs, installed height in spec, etc. Everything we have ever built has been for a specific project and never been for sale so I have never priced one!

At any rate, the student had planned to put engine into his truck but has decided to sell the truck leaving the engine with no home!

He is wanting to sale the motor! It has no warranty. I am interested in buying it but not sure what is a decentrice!

What would you expect? No warranty, comes with intake, accessories, and tranny for core and transfer case.

Id say somewhere between $2k-2500 would be a decent price. Considering you can get a used takeout for a bout a grand.
