Fan Clutch tech

Haven't had a chance to put it on, but I don't see how this won't help. Everybody said use a 7 blade fan and clutch from a early to mid eighties k30 454 crewcab w/4.56's. Well, My dealer was unable to find a listing that included the 4.56's so here is was I got.

GM part # 15963247

List price is 156.35 , but I only paid about half that (it's good to know people) . Was a k30 crewcab w/454 auto a/c and heavy duty cooling. No luck on the 7 blade fan, has been superceeded by the 5 blade. So I'll just run my 5 blade till I come across one.

Not to burst your "hook-up" bubble but you can get those all day long from gmpartsdirect for just over $80.

Have you checked Hayden for a 7-blade fan? I know they used to make one.

Nobody said you paid too much. I was commenting on your "it's good to know people" comment.

Your "buddy" didn't hook you up any better than joe blow on the street could get from gmpartsdirect.

Back on topic, I have only been able to find 6 blade fans in the aftermarket. I'd like to find one around here, but junkyard pickin's are slim.

Cheese and rice... I wasn't even trying to argue about the price of anything. Just making a simple statement.

Anyway, summit has 7-blade fans but not for use with a clutch. They do have 6-blade clutch fans, though. Same thing with Hayden.

I think people forget that the advertised price isn't GMPD's final. That fan clutch is $104.89 *shipped* folks.
