Hey everyone! My first post here on the forum. I have an '87 blazer with a 3.5 or 4 inch suspension lift. The 35's were a little close, so I installed a 1" body lift to help with the clearance. What do I do with the fan shroud and fan blade alignment since the body is slightly lifted and the motor obviously isn't? Any ideas would be great. I have thought about an electric fan setup, but don't want to spend much more money on this blazer before I can actually run it and I have no experience in how to set up an electric fan system. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Trim the bottom of the shroud, it doesn't take much.

Welcome! Is your fan shroud a two piece unit? If so, slip them up and put a spacer between the two halves. If its a one piece, you will need to trim it so you can lower it one inch. You will have to get a little creative on this. I have a two inch body lift and just took it out completely. I do not recommend this, but I have never overheated in ten + yrs. You will get a few people here to help also. Good luck.

I dont have a shroud either, no bodylift, but still applicable. Hasnt overheated at all in the pretty hot 108ish weather here in Sacramento.

Probably not the best way to do it, but if it still cools fine, i dont see the issue

Several years back, I put a 3 inch body lift on a 1992 pickup 2500. The truck had a two piece shroud and the lower half was separated and then joined back together with longer bolts and a spacer similar to a pipe nipple over the bolt, in between the halves. A small bracket reattached at the very bottom.

You could space the shroud down an inch with some strap & bolts. Just take a piece of 1" wide metal strap, drill holes in it 1" apart from each other & use the bolts to hold the shroud to the strap. then use the original fan shroud bolts to hold the strap in the original location on the radiator support.

Just a thought.

Buddy

with a 1", you just need a minor trim at the bottom...
