Does anyone have any experience with Farm Jacks? After I bought them out of the paper I found out that they are sold at harbor freight. I got 3 48" for $50.00 and are very new. According to the guy he only used them once to replace some floor joists. They have the same ratings as a high lift but not sure if I want to trust them coming from harbor freight. Any thoughts??????:confused::confused:
 
i bought 1 from harbor freight for like $19.99 when my k5 rolled over and down on my floor jack...had 2 use the farm jack to lift it by the hitch/reciever to get it high enough to get the new floor jack i bought under the diff to get the old jack out...as i was lifting it with the farm jack the truck shifter a lil & it snapped the lil bolt holding the bast plate to the jack...quick fix, but cheaply made IMO...its better than nothing, but i'll be getting a "hi-lift" b4 long...
 
I would not trust it; have seen the main shaft bend pretty bad on a recovery once. I would go pick a Hi-Lift.
 
go with a hi-lift with cast parts, the red one. its worth it.

60" for our large rigs.
I have mine mounted on the bedrail(where top bolts to rear quarter pannel) with simple L brackets and quick release pins. Its up and out of the way and when wheeling without the top very easy to get to.
 
oh yeah get the 60" one. The 48 will top out before you even start to lift the thing sometimes.
 
Thank you, I knew beter than to buy them but oh well. I am selling them on a local website now and have drilled out the hole for the baseplate and put in a much larger, stronger bolt to help sell them. I will defanitly get the 60" high lift as soon as I get rid of these.
 
You'll be happy with the hi-lift.

You get what you pay for. HF can be a great deal on some stuff. I wouldn't trust my life on something like that.

I bought a 4" grinder that I have beat up pretty good, and metal saw that has done pretty well.
