FarSoCal and AZ

Got the crossover fixed and the DW is almost all gone. It is little enough now that I am not really woried about it.

Now I am going to start saving money for hydro assist and getting the HMMWV rims recentered...

There is a MDR Offroad Race at Plaster City tomorrow (Saturday) starting at 9 AM. I haven't decided if I'll drive the Blazer or my SD CrewCab there - depends on the weather. The races are always fun to watch and you can Wheel anywhere around the course. I'm leaving San Diego at 6:30.

I almost came...but I rolled over and went back to sleep. :D If I'd known you were coming, I woulda come out and met up with ya. Bummer. I've never been, even though I've lived down here several years.

Given up

I broke down last night and ordered gears and and install kit for the front 10b. I just cant afford a 1000.00 for a D60 yet. I will just have to wait till I break the damn thing and then change it out. My Friend at work called me yesterday a said I need to go check out the new "pay" 4wheel park over by Irvine Lake. He said it was way cool.

Hey, remember how low my trailer hitch was on my truck? Well I am fixing that at the same time I am installing Kerts inboarding kit. I will try to get a mid-mod pic up here shortly. Still need to figure out how to mount hte rear bumper in a somewhat stout manner, while keeping it up high too.

I need all the clearance I can get with the longbed.

Gave Andrew a deposit on his CUCV today. I'm either gonna bob it or bob it and flabed/cage it.

Sweet. I was going to bob mine too, but the more I look at it the less likely I am to do it.
I figure with 56's, and a trailer hitch I would only be able to cut 6-8" off of the frame so why bother.

Eventually I will do the flatbed thing, But as of now I do not have the time to get it done and have it looking cool.

Pics will be up in a few....

Haha, yeah...Mine's not gonna be done tomorrow either! I'd like to get a lot done over the summer when it's too hot to wheel. We'll see.

Here is what I am up to
hitch_01.JPG

hitch_00.JPG

I spent the other day cutting it apart and force fitting it between the frame rails. To mount it I am using two pieces of 3x3x3/16 angle. It will be welded to the hitch with about 12 inches of weld on each side and two plug welds. Also mounted to the frame with 3 1/2 G8 bolts per side. It is bound to be stronger than it was originally
